The Electric State RPG - Core Rulebook

When did it all start? Hard to say. Like TV, at first it was just another pastime. Sometimes they watched TV, sometimes they wore their neurocasters. No one really cared. But after the big update of 1996, things got strange. Mode Six.

The Electric State Roleplaying Game is based on the narrative art book The Electric State by acclaimed visual artist and author Simon Stålenhag, now being adapted into a major motion picture by the Russo brothers (Avengers: Endgame), starring Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) and Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy).

This is a game about travelers setting out on a journey through a strange America in an alternate 1997. Gigantic battle drones lie in ruins across the countryside, tangled with the discarded trash of a collapsing high-tech society.

The game is not about the destination, but the journey — what the characters experience along the way and how it changes them. It’s a game of exploration, of discovering who you are, who your friends are, and what you’ll do when the world falls apart.
